Tension adjustment with screw gives extra strength and tension for Free-motion machine embroidery, Thread Painting and Hand Embroidery methods. Hold fabric more firmly than regular hand embroidery hoops.

This hoop is not as deep as most hand embroidery hoops. It is specifically designed to slide under the machine needle. However, this size works well for hand embroidery.

For machine embroidery, the design side of your fabric is placed inside the hoop, so that the fabric slides against the needle bed as you stitch. This is opposite from hand embroidery fabric placement.

For extra fabric control, wrap the inside ring with bias tape, securing with a dab of glue on the end of the tape. This enables the outside ring to grip the fabric even better and helps eliminate hoop marks. This is especially helpful when working with very fine or slippery fabrics, such as nylon organdy.
